Snowshoeing  

Looking for some awesome winter Snowshoeing Adventures?  There are many opportunities to explore Rusk County in your snowshoes.

       The Blue Hills Area are a beautiful swath of hill-country running through the northwestern part of Rusk County, providing some of the best showshoeing opportunities in the entire state.   In the winter, the Blue Hills are white, blanketed with snow, making them a winter recreation paradise on snowshoes.  For more information about snowshoeing in the Blue Hills or other activities, visit www.bluehillswisconsin.com  or call 1-866-535-7875.

       The Greenwood Park Trail provides snowshoeing opportunities—it’s a great place for beginner snowshoers to get a feel for this winter sport.  This trail is near the Ladysmith High School on the east side of the city off U.S. Highway 8.

       The Sisters’ Farm Trail provides 12 kilometers of groomed trails along the Flambeau River.  Enjoy wonderful scenery along one of Wisconsin’s most famous riverways on some truly excellent snowshoeing trails.   Sisters’ Farm Trail is located to the southwest outside the Ladysmith city limits.

       If you want to get far from civilization and have a real taste for wilderness adventure, the vast tracts of County Forestlands in Rusk County are just what you are looking for.  Bring your snowshoes to Rusk County and trek the hundreds of miles of logging trails and paths and enjoy some of the best-preserved wilderness in Wisconsin.
