The Health Officer, or her designee, following Rusk County Code, Chapter 10, investigates environmental health complaints. Well water testing is available on a fee-exempt basis for WIC clients, and for investigative purposes. Three county owned beaches: Trail’s End, Josi Creek, and Community Park are tested weekly from Memorial Day through Labor Day for the presence of E. Coli bacteria. Public Health Sanitarian services are provided through the Western Region office. Public Health cooperates with the Rusk County Animal Shelter staff to investigate animal bite reports.
