FORESTRY TECHNICIAN

Rusk County is accepting applications and resumes for a full time Forestry Technician to work in our Forestry Department.

Responsibilities include varied management and administrative duties relating to Land and Forestry work. Perform various county Forestry field and office tasks and does related work as required. Is expected to exercise good judgment in the application of prescribed procedures and regulations to routine matters.

Qualifications: A 2 year Technical Degree in Forestry from an accredited college or equivalent knowledge/training acquired in Forestry Course work.

Starting wage is $18.64/hour with excellent fringe benefits.

VOLUNTEER CAMPGROUND HOST POSITION AVAILABLE

Rusk County Forestry Department is looking for a VOLUNTEER CAMPGROUND HOST to do volunteer work at the Audie Lake Campground.

The position will start in May and run through late summer. This position will consist of volunteer work only and is responsible for advising and assisting campers to register at campsites upon arrival, inform campers of site availability, inform campers of campground regulations, perform light maintenance and report park violations to the Rusk County Forestry Dept.

There are no educational requirements for this position. To be considered for this position applicants need to submit the following: Campground Host Proposal along with three references. Background checks will be performed as part of the selection process.

COUNTY CONSERVATIONIST

Rusk County is accepting applications for a full time County Conservationist to work in our Land Conservation and Development Department.

Responsibilities include coordinating, assessing and planning soil and water conservation operations with land owners, farm operators, conservation groups and cooperating agencies.

Qualifications: This position requires a degree in Natural Resources, Agriculture or related field with administrative/supervisory experience in directing and planning conservation programs.

Starting wage is $21.18 - $22.87/hour with generous fringe benefits.
