BRIDGE WORK SCHEDULED FOR SAWYER AND RUSK COUNTIES IN 2017

1 of 2

Traffic will be detoured around several bridge projects.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will replace the WIS 40 Couderay River Bridge at Radisson in Sawyer County. Additional bridge deck replacements will take place over Alder Creek and Becky Creek north of Bruce in Rusk County. WIS 40 will be closed at each of these locations for the duration of the projects. Local access will be maintained via local roads. Minor bridge maintenance is also scheduled for Clear Creek where traffic may be restricted to a single lane under a flagging operation.

During bridge work along WIS 40, traffic will be detoured via US 8 and WIS 27. It is WisDOT’s intent to stagger work at Alder Creek and Becky Creek to accommodate local access to properties located along WIS 40 between the two bridges. Work will begin in spring 2017.

Below, is WisDOT’s link that identifies the Detour Route Map for WIS 40.

#2 – ROAD CLOSING & DETOUR FOR 2017 ON STH 40

10/10/2016

We have been informed from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) that there will be another 2017 unrelated road closing and detour on STH 40 for some culvert work. WisDOT has designated STH 64 to STH 27 to USH 8 as the signed detour for this road closing/detour of STH 40. This culvert work will be begin approximately between May and/or June and be completed by July 5, 2017 and the other road closing (that was previously announced) on STH 40 (Bruce to Radisson) will not begin until July 15, 2017. The WisDOT did not want the two projects on STH 40 to overlap and cause an inconvenience to the public.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact our office at (715) 532-2633.
